New Postdoctoral Program for Clinician-Educators
Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
Duke University Medical Center
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University Medical Center is accepting applications for postdoctoral clinical psychologists to a new Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Program. The overarching aim of the program is to provide high-quality clinical psychology postdoctoral training for individuals interested in a career as a clinician-educator in an academic medical center. The program is designed to train clinician-educators to be well prepared for successful careers in a future characterized by integrated behavioral health and value-based care delivery models (in contrast to volume-based traditional models). Programmatic didactics, professional networking, and clinical quality projects are focused around preparing future psychologists for successful futures in new payor and care models. The position is full-time with Duke health benefits. The start date is flexible, but is expected to begin between July 1 and September 15, 2016. This is a 2-year training program.
Duke Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences has long been a top program for research. However, we also are in the process of significant expansion in our clinical mission. Over the past 5 years we have become the fastest growing clinical department within the Duke School of Medicine. We are preparing for the future by expanding our services and creating new models of care, and we are seeking post-docs who would like to explore the longer-term possibility of being a part of our clinical mission providing state-of-the-art clinical services and clinical training.
Successful applicants will have training in contemporary cognitive behavioral therapies from APA-accredited scientist-practitioner or PCSAS-accredited clinical scientist training programs. Post-docs will be paired with supervisors overseeing assessment and treatment for adolescents and/or adults with a wide range of problems. Specialty areas of clinical supervision and training include evidence-based contemporary CBTs for traumatic stress, women’s health, OCD, DBT, parent training, and couples/marital therapy.
If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and a brief statement of interest to the Program Director and Vice Chair for Clinical Services, Dr. Zach Rosenthal, at [email protected]. Please also feel free to contact Dr. Rosenthal informally to answer any questions. Duke University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing employment opportunity without regard to an individual’s age, color, disability, genetic information, gender, gender identity, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, or veteran status.
