Therapist position: The East Bay Behavior Therapy Center (EBBTC)

The East Bay Behavior Therapy Center (EBBTC) is offering a psychological assistant or therapist position for one and a half year, minimum, starting in August 2016. We are looking forward to have a new member in our team and welcome all applications at this point.

The EBBTC is a private center dedicated to the “practice, improvement, and dissemination” of empirically-supported treatments for children, adolescents, and adults located in Walnut Creek. We’re a group of compassionate and caring behaviorally oriented therapists committed to our clients. At our center, behavioral therapy is not just a therapy approach; it’s a way of looking at the world and understanding human behavior. Compassion and caring are the hallmarks of our therapy work with the added benefits of behavioral interventions.

The ideal candidate for our psychological assistant position is:

Committed to evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, and ACT primarily.

  • Dedicated to provide high-quality interventions and top-notch clinical work to our clients.
  • Interested in specializing in anxiety (social anxiety, OCD, PTSD in particular), mild to severe emotion dysregulation problems, high conflict relationships, and parent coaching.

Interested in developing clinical skills to work with children, adolescents, adults and families.

Eager to develop a clinical practice in a private setting.

Interested in developing a professional career that fosters clinical work, ongoing learning, and clinical innovation.

Open to learning different behaviorally-based interventions (by open, we mean really open to learn)

Able to see clients on Saturdays  (the rest of the hours are flexible but Saturday is a required day to see children, teens, and families).

Clinical training and supervision will be offered by Dr. Patricia E. Zurita Ona on a weekly basis. Additional mentoring will be provided on as needed basis.

Clinical – administrative duties

1.Provide exclusively empirically-supported treatments for children, adolescents and adult clients.

2.Facilitate the assessment, treatment planning, and delivery of therapy services for clients.

  1. Provided crisis support to clients when necessary

4.Facilitate DBT skills groups for adults, young adults, and families.

  1. Opportunities to facilitate other groups are also available (social anxiety and anger for instance).

6.Collect data from all clients at the beginning, during, and at the end of treatment either for individual or group therapy.

7.Complete all clinical documentation in a promptly manner.

Complete other necessary managerial and administrative activities as part of the process of establishing a solid caseload for clinical work.

Salary:
Psychological assistants will be compensated in an hourly basis.

All costs for supervision, rent, administrative assistance, professional insurance, office supplies, billing assistance, and other logistical costs are covered by the EBBTC.
